2013 Lost Dutchman Marathon Race Report

Lost Dutchman Marathon  A run for the gold…. and a BQ! I’m going to start this race report off when the idea to race started, and go into the training plan a little bit as well.  If you just want to hear about race day, scroll down a little, otherwise read on!  Seems simple enough… How to start… well, let’s fly back in time to September of 2012, a time when Mindy was coming up with her plan to qualify for the Boston Marathon.  We Continue reading →

Race Review – Pemberton Trail 50k

As we were scheduling our marathon training, my running buddy, Jen, and I were making plans for our last long run – a 29 miler.  That’s when Jen noticed that the Pemberton Trail 50k happened to take place around that same time as we were looking at.  We weighed the pros and cons and decided the benefit of having aid stations and moral support along the way outweighed the fact that it was 2 extra miles and on trail. On the morning of Feb. 9th, 2013 Continue reading →

Race Review – Retro Run 5k

In true Przeor fashion, we signed up for this even about a week ahead of time.  I received an email offering a free entry and signed us both up … the following weekend we headed out to Peoria to race. This event is called the Retro Run 5k but this year it was held at the Rio Vista Sports Complex.  We have done other races at this location and they have always been 4 mile runs and with the way the running path is set Continue reading →

Race Review – Tinker Bell 1/2 Marathon

January 20th, 2013 Anaheim, California This was the 2nd annual Tinker Bell 1/2 Marathon held at the Disneyland Resort.  After participating in  this event (and winning the team division) last year, we knew we needed to go back … and, we are definitely glad we did!  The weekend was off to a great start when we participated in the runDisney meetup on Friday morning.  That afternoon we headed to the expo to pick up all our race goodies. The expo was similar to previous Disney Continue reading →

runDisney Tinker Bell 1/2 Marathon Meetup

courtesy of runDisney On Friday, January 18th, 2013 we had the opportunity to participate in a runDisney meetup during the Tinker Bell 1/2 Marathon weekend … what an amazing experience! courtesy of runDisney courtesy of runDisney The morning started early – they asked us to meet at the Disneyland Hotel at 6am so we could start by 6:30!   When we checked in, they had us sign a waiver and then gave us our goodie bag. Inside the bag was our official runDisney tech tee Continue reading →

Race Review – Family Fitness 5k

On January 12, 2013 we participated in the Family Fitness 5k benefiting Kyrene del Pueblo Middle School (my alma matter) and Kyrene de la Paloma Elementary School. We found out about and participated in this event a couple years back when Tribe Multisport (our triathlon shop) was a sponsor.  We were impressed with how well it was run and we like to support it when we can. Another perk of hosting this event at aschool – being able to use the gym.  Thisprovided us with Continue reading →

Race Review – Colossal Du

January 5th, 2013 – Colossal Cave Mountain Park – Vail, Arizona  Yesterday I participated in the Colossal Du: Is It Tougher Than You? Duathlon.  A few weeks ago, through Active Advantage Kris was able to snag me a free entry so I had no reason not to go!  A couple days prior to the race, an email was sent out asking for volunteers and offering free entries into two upcoming events to anyone who helped – Kris was happy to take advantage of that offer!   Continue reading →

Race Review – Disney’s Wine & Dine 1/2 Marathon

Walt Disney World November 9-11th, 2012 The Wine & Dine 1/2 marathon takes place in conjunction with the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival at Epcot center.  This festival lasts for about 6 weeks – this year going from Sept. 28th-Nov. 12th. – and features amazing food and beverages from all over the world.  Of course, we needed to get in a couple days early so we could check it out! Definitely a must do while you’re there! We flew in on Thursday evening.  We Continue reading →

Ride Review – Tour de Scottsdale

Christina and I before the ride Scottsdale, AZ October 14th, 2012 This is a ride I have thought about doing the past couple years and it hasn’t worked with my schedule until now.  Our Jobing.com women’s team decided to participate in this ride as a team fundraiser for the Phoenix Children’s Hospital.  We had the option of riding the 30-mile course or 70-mile course and when Christina mentioned wanting to do the 30-miler I was in and excited to ride it with her!  This was Continue reading →

Race Review – Prescott Basin 10K

Prescott, AZ October 13th, 2012 While most of our races are planned – at least a couple weeks in advance – this one was found and decided upon last minute.  My marathon training plan called for 6 miles with hills this weekend.  Mid-week, our friend (Angi) asked what we were doing and if we wanted to do a trail run near her house.  Once we realized the trail run was not near her house, we looked around at other options and found this 10K in Continue reading →
